Toyokawa Etsushi and Ito Hideaki appear together for the first time in what is a never-before-seen lawyer-oriented drama. The original work by Iura Hideo, "Bengoshi no Kuzu," is currently being published by Big Comic Original. Our main character, Kuzu Motohito--aka "scum lawyer"--will do just about anything if it means he can win in court. Lawyers aren't on the side of justice! The law isn't meant to punish people, it's meant to save them! At least, that's this guy's secret motto. High school drop-out, lover of money and women, rude demeanor, and a vulgar mouth. This ridiculous excuse for a lawyer (played by Toyokawa Etsushi) has his first challenge in this comedy as the character Kuzu Motohito. And then there's Takeda Masami (played by Ito Hideaki) who works with Kuzu; Takeda Masami is a wet behind the ears lawyer who is touched by the very idea of justice. Takashima Reiko plays the capable female lawyer, Kato Tetsuko. "You'll laugh, you'll cry...a satisfying Legal Human Comedy that breaks through all the rules of the legal world."

This turned out to be much more interesting that I had anticpated. Toyokawa was pretty good in a rather unflattering role... well, unflattering for him. |

It's a case-by-case drama, with fairly independent episodes. In each episode there were a good number of scenes involving Itoh Hideki's character and Kuzu, which make up for the somewhat mostly lackluster story development. |

Besides the 2 lead actors this drama seems to be a low budget drama. I had some hopes before watching it but the plot's hollow from start to finish & with mediocre acting performances. It's not totally crap, I have seen much worse drama. But I have to categorize it as a waste of time. |

HILARIOUS!!! I love Ito Hideaki, and I know everyone would in this one. He's so goofy, and his partner Toyokawa makes the drama even more enjoyful to watch. Though it's not for all ages, I think this takes stereotype comedy to the best ever! Story isn't too well plotted, but it's still great stuff! |

Very funny, and clever. I want to buy the DVD set with English subtitles if possible. Aki Hoshino is very cute in this show. It's nice that the episodes are fairly independent of each other, so I don't have to watch the episodes in order. |
