The time was spring 1343 at the end of Won Dynasty in China. Mongolians, the Han race and people from Koryo Kingdom are living together, conflicting one another. The story begins at the village, named Sanme-hyon in Habuksung, China. Jinha, the son of wandering Koryo people and Soli, a daughter between a Mongolian general and his concubine. The love between jinha and Soli did not last long as Solis father took her to Sohung after her mother died. Soli promises jinha, saying I will wait for you at the Wuhwa Pavilion on every 15th day of the month. Jinha learns martial arts from his uncle who has been living with him. Jinhas uncle dies from an attack by an assassinator, and at his lat breath, he tells Jinha about the hidden story related to his birth and the mystery of the death of his parents. Jinha leaves for Sohung. He was saved by Junkwang from an attack by an assassinator. They become friends each other. On one full moon night, Jinha heads for the Wuhwa Pavilion to meet Soli as they have promised before, but Soli, by her parents press and arrangement, was engaged with a man. The man was Junkwang who is the son a wealthy man who receives favor of the royal family of the Won Dynasty. Jinha and Soli finally met at the Wuhwa Pavilion, and by the help of Li, Solis step brother, they left for the place where they could continue their love. Junkwang chases them, and Taruga with full of rages, finds the place where they hid and attacks them. Taruga shoots Jinha with an arrow, and Jinha fell over the precipice. A mans saves Jinha, and he becomes a member of Jaharang whose major purpose is to kill those who are against the Won dynasty. He attacks Tarugas house and Junkwangs house and meets Soli there. But, there is a deep and long river of time between the two.
