Once the perfect couple, songwriter Jie and his pop star girlfriend Tracy are now heading in opposite directions in life. With his artistic temperament running afoul of many people in the industry, Jie is unable to find work and hits an all-time career low. Tracy, however, is on the rise in the pop world and must keep her relationship with Jie a secret. In the end, Jie chooses his pride and Tracy chooses her career. Giving up on music, Jie ends up in a small apartment on Temple Street where he attracts the curiosity of perky street singer Min. Min's beautiful voice and ceaseless cheer slowly inspire Jie to live, love, and compose again, but he must face new trials of the heart when she falls ills.
