Big thanks to Natzo from Filmphilia for steering the way to Love on Sunday, the latest from acclaimed director Hiroki Ryuichi.
This one looks to be a coming of age story and mines some very familiar Hiroki territory - namely sex and the lack thereof - albeit with younger protagonists than usual. Honestly, if the film were from anyone other than Hiroki I doubt that the trailer would have inspired a second look, but this is the man behind Vibrator and It's Only Talk, two fantastic films that also didn't present particularly well in advance. It seems that Hiroki is a film maker whose strangths just don't trailer-fy well ... |
